Discipleship

One of Jesus’ last words recorded in the Gospel of Matthew is to “make disciples of all people by baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and also by teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20). We at New Hope Fellowship under the vision “living beyond ourselves” strive to fulfill these words of Jesus as we reach out to people near and far with the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. As we engage in various ministries and missions activities outside the boundaries of our church, however, we ourselves need to be equipped in order to truly live beyond ourselves as mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

The goal of Discipleship Classes is to equip our mind, heart, and hands, so that we think like Jesus, love like Jesus and serve like Jesus. Although there are limitations to discipleship in a classroom setting, discipleship classes are designed so that as we engage in Gospel-centered teaching and discussions, so that “we may present everyone mature in Christ” (Colossians 1:28). Classes are designed so that people in different stages of life (College and Career; Single Professionals; Young Married Couples; Families with Children) and in different faith stages (Seekers and New Christians; Growing Christians; Maturing Servant-Leaders) can be equipped and nurtured. Most classes runs for six to twelve sessions on specific topics and they are offered throughout different seasons.
