The vision of Micah 6:8 is New Hope Fellowship’s vision to “Live Beyond Ourselves, in God, with community for all peoples”.
Micah 6:8 longs to see the local church be the salt and light of our community by being actively involved in justice/benevolent oriented work, to care and love the poor and the vulnerable just as Jesus did, within the community in which we are based. It is beyond ‘social’ work, and necessarily Christ Centered.
Following the model of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Micah 6:8 desires not only to act out the vocation of serving the poor and vulnerable, but to understand why God specifically calls us to do the work of justice. In this way, the ministry is an avenue for which people can experience the injustice, but also to see the hope we have through Jesus.
We desire to mobilize and create space for our congregation to live out our faith and go outside of our comfort zone in loving and sharing our lives with the authority God has given us by word, deed and sign.
ACT. LOVE. WALK.
New Hope Downtown is currently focusing on
Urban Poverty / Child Education
Jesus calls us to love the ‘least of these’. By the ‘least of these’, He calls the local church to love the poor, the vulnerable, the sick and the neglected. Poverty is a phenomenon in an urban city like Toronto and the body of Christ is empowered to show compassion and care for the poor so that each person may be restored their dignity. Micah 6:8 will partner alongside Toronto City Mission in responding to the crisis of poverty in the city.
We are in the process of starting a potential new program with TCM St. James Town.
Join us as we learn and experience what it means to act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with our God!
