Outreach Ministry
The Outreach Ministries at New Hope Fellowship exists to spread the love of Christ by serving the needs of those in our own neighborhoods. Our desire is to befriend the community around us by building bridges of friendship between our Church and the cities of Toronto and Malton through several local organizations that exist to impact a culture for Christ by meeting both the physical and spiritual needs of those in our communities. We believe that the Great Commission is all encompassing, sending some to foreign missions, but challenging many of us to serve as missionaries right here at home – locally.
Here is some of what we’re currently up to:
Community M3 – Loving Malton, Making Connections, Moving Together
We are a ministry that started in Summer 2010 through a week-long Summer Day Camp for the local kids within Malton community called “The Amazing Races”, a theme based on celebrating the diversity of Malton, while “traveling” through various activities “around the world”. We had about 40 kids from the community come out, most, if not all of whose families we’ve formed trusting and genuine relationships. We now exist to be a relationship-based ministry that acts as a bridge between Malton and the Church. We hold quarterly events, go to house visitations and are in the midst of trying to learn about various religions so that we can be relevant, sensitive and impactful in the ministry we carry out. More than anything, we care to BE people who love our community (both Church and Malton) and show Christ’s love to it.
If you are interested in knowing more about us, or wanna jump right in and get involved, please contact us at communitym3@newhopefellowship.ca! We’re always looking for more people and would love to have you come on board!
Campus Alpha ministry
New Hope will be regularly running a 7-week course for anyone interested in exploring the meaning of life. In a friendly and casual setting, you will meet new friends over a free dinner, learn about intriguing topics of the Christian faith each week (Jesus, Faith, Suffering, Evil, etc.) and then discuss the topics in small groups. All questions are welcome and anyone can voice their opinions!
Campus Alpha is an offshoot of the Alpha Course which has become a worldwide phenomenon, now in 164 countries, with over 16 million past attendees. Our first Campus Alpha course at New Hope was hugely successful with well over 100 different attendees consisting of students from 7 different campuses as well as working people. It started from the recognition that while there are many ‘Christian Fellowships’ on campuses, there often isn’t a place for people to systematically explore the Christian faith and ‘safely’ bring their friends.
If you’d like to attend, help plan, donate, or even to help cook, please contact Bosco at boscotung@gmail.com or 647-282-8463

Soup Kitchen Ministry
The Bible contains more than 2000 verses on the poor, social justice, and God’s deep concern for both. It’s not a question of ‘should’ we be involved but ‘how’. As the volunteers of the St Stephen’s dinner program, we believe that the aim is not to go out and “do something nice once in a while” but to be TRANSFORMED by God into men and women who truly live out lives of outreach. Men and women who love our neighbors as ourselves. We reach out because God first reached out to us. “We love because he first loved us.” (1 John 4:19)
Members of NHF have been serving for the past year at “St Stephens Soup Kitchen” (near College and Spadina) every Sunday from 6:30-8:30pm and would like to invite everyone to help us serve the downtown Toronto community in this way. Please check out the website (www.sssoupkitchen.ca) for more details and ways in which you can give your time or goods.
Please contact Bosco at bosco@sssoupkitchen.ca or 647-282-8463 if you have any questions. Also, contact him if you would like to learn about other outreach/learning opportunities around the city for you and your small group!
