Hall of Faith

1.      Defining faith. 

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (v.1)

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

2.      Direction of Faith

“For by it the people of old received their commendation.” (v.2)

During uncertainty

During suffering

During the time of waiting and endurance

During fear

During abundance

During conflict

“For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23b)

3.      The call as the fruition of faith. 

“And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.” (v.39-40)
