1. Recognizing the cause of spiritual depression.

Running with borrowed energy
2. Recognizing the symptoms of spiritual depression.
a. Listening to distorted truth.
“Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ‘So may the gods do to me and more also, if I do not make your life as the loife of one of them by this time tomorrow.’” (v.2)

b. Running away.

3. Receiving God’s provision of rest.
a. Providing rest.
“He lay down and slept under a broom tree.” (v.5 a)
b. Providing loving touch.
“An angel touched him.” (v.5 b)
c. Providing nourishment.
“Arise and eat!” (v.5 c)
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
