The Gospel Is The Good News That Bears Good Fruit

1. INTRODUCTION
a. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Gen 1:28)
b. “… you have heard… in the word of the truth, the gospel, which has come to you, as indeed in the whole world it is bearing fruit and increasing—as it also does among you, since the day you heard it and understood the grace of God in truth” (Col 1: 5-6)
c. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. (John 15:8)
d. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. (John 15:16)
e. “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.
2. WHAT IS THE GOOD FRUIT THAT WE BEAR THROUGH THE GOOD NEWS?
a. Good works
“… walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col 1:10)
b. Good disciples (who reproduce disciples)
c. Good character
