GENESIS SERMON SERIES
GENESIS 2:4-17
“The LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostril the bread of life and the man became a living creature” (Genesis 2:7, ESV)
I. Our bodies are handcrafted by God

II. Our bodies are made out of dust

Abraham answered and said, “Behold, I have undertaken to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.” (Genesis 18:27)

III. Our bodies are incomplete without God’s breath of life

IV. We are meant to live forever through eating and not eating
“And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” (Genesis 2:9)
“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 3:16-17)
“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life” (John 6:27)
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh. (John 6:51)
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (John 6:53-54)
