A Fiery Faith

Daniel 3:1-25

All of us are living in a world where it is hostile against our faith. There are so many influences—both internal and external—that are trying to distract us from placing our trust in God. In this way, Daniel 3 is very instructive for us. During this time period, Daniel and his friends—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—were living in an empire that was also hostile against their faith.

Despite this opposition, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego expressed their unwavering trust and faith in God. The focal point of the passage, however, is not on the heroism of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Rather, the focus is on who God is that he is worthy of such a sacrificial faith and trust.

In this sermon, we unpack why we too can place our trust in God the same way that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego did. It is because of who God is—his character and involvement in our lives. And it is because our God is with us. He is intimately present in our lives, unbinding us and walking among us; and he is powerful to save and deliver us!
