The Reliability of the Gospel of Jesus Christ

1 Thessalonians 2:1-16

Have you ever wondered if it is worth living your entire life based on the gospel of Jesus Christ? Or that the gospel is actually making an impact in your everyday life? Or that you are walking faithfully in light of what all Jesus has done for you in the gospel? Many of us, especially in 2020, might have had these questions.

The Thessalonians had very similar questions as these, which Paul addresses in this passage. In this sermon, we will focus on three specific implications of the gospel. The gospel enables us to (1) perservere in the midst of suffering, (2) orient our lives so that our focus is on God's glory instead of ourselves, and (3) love others with gentleness and compassion. Each of these is most exemplified in Christ Jesus, whose very Spirit lives inside all those who submit to His Gospel.
