Discipleship Classes

The goal of Discipleship Classes is to equip the members to grow as disciples who love like Jesus (heard), who think like Jesus (head), who are equipped to serve like Jesus (hands). Classes are designed so that people in different stages of life and different faith stages can be equipped and nurtured. Classes run for 6-12 sessions and are offered throughout different seasons.

MISSIONAL DISCIPLESHIP

Overview: Who are we and what are we here for? Do I have to be a cross-cultural overseas missionary for me to participate in God’s mission? What does my study, work or family life have to do with God’s mission? What about social justice and care for creation?

Using Christopher Wright’s book, The Mission of God’s People, we will learn how to be missional people who participate in God’s mission in all spheres of our daily lives and our society. The two main questions we will address and answer together are: Who are we (our identity)? And what are we here for (our mission)? This training will provide you a comprehensive and holistic vision of God’s mission for God’s people in God’s world. We will incorporate reading and discussion, prayer and practice through which we anticipate transformation of our lives--head, heart and hands—by the power of the Spirit and life together.

Audience: All who want to grow as a missional disciple through intentional and intensive training. Limited to 12 people who will form a cohort for 8-months (October to May).

Facilitators:
Pastor Charles Lee and Elder John Im
Time: Fridays 7~9 PM, starting Oct 7, bi-weekly
Location: Room #312, Mississauga Campus (plus home and zoom)
Additional info: $20 book fee; mission trip options to India and Germany in the summer
Registration Deadline: Sunday, Sep. 25, 2022

Coffee Break

Overview: Coffee Break is an inductive Bible study that connects both believers and seekers to the Bible through a small group setting. Using an informal, low-key approach to questions, Coffee Break encourages people to discover for themselves what the Bible says and means for their lives. Through application and sharing of life in light of God's Word, we strive for spiritual growth together.

This term we will study together Paul’s letters to Thessalonians and explore the following questions: How can I be sure that I am saved? How can I live a godly life? How do I deal with persecution? Am I ready for Jesus’ return?

Through these short books (Thessalonians 1 & 2), we will discover together what it means to have faith in Christ and depend on his Spirit to guide us every day.

Audience: Open to all ladies
