Hermeneutics is the study and practice of the methods and principles used to understand and interpret Scripture faithfully and accurately. It helps us understand the original and intentional message of God's word to its original audience and how the word of God speaks into our context today. 

Due to the nature of this course, a high level of commitment to attending ALL 7 CLASSES is expected. Classes will be held on ZOOM every Friday at 7:00PM bi-weekly starting on September 19 to December 12 [dates: Sept. 19; Oct. 3; Oct. 17; Oct. 31; Nov. 14; Nov. 28; Dec. 12]

Christianity 101 is a 10 week program that teaches the foundations of the Christian faith and it also provides a space to ask any questions that you have been wondering about - no questions are off the table - through apologetics. We will be holding a Ministry Fair to give an opportunity for the congregation to learn more about each ministry in our downtown campus. If you have an interest in serving in the church or you are simply curious about the various ministries in our church, we encourage you to come and check it out. The Ministry Fair will be held on Sunday September 21 right after worship service.

Life Group Ministry Vision: TO GROW DISCIPLES THROUGH AUTHENTIC SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS ROOTED IN GOSPEL-CENTERED CONVERSATIONS

The Life Group season is fast approaching! If you are a professing Christian and desire to grow as disciples of Christ in community, we encourage you to sign up for a LG.

Life groups (LG) are smaller groups, of 8 or more members who meet throughout the year, with a focus on mutual discipleship in friendship and growing in relationship with Jesus Christ. Every LG may approach the time together differently, but all groups will meet regularly to cultivate deeper friendship, read God’s Word, pray for one another, and encourage each other in their faith journeys.

The sign-up form will take up to 10 minutes, and the your answers will be reviewed by the LG leader(s) during group formation. This is to help the ministry understand what you are looking for and excited about in joining a LG.

Sign-up form is open from Aug 17 to Sept 4, with LGs meeting starting the week of Sep 22.

We will be having our baptism ceremony for those who are attending our 2025 DT Retreat in September and would like to be baptized or confirmed. The baptism ceremony will be held on Sunday September 14th. For those getting baptized, it will be a full immersion baptism performed in the lake at the Muskoka Retreat Center. 2025 DT Retreat Baptism Ceremony

Our Summer VBS is 2 weeks away and we will be decorating the entire church on the night of Sunday August 17th from 7pm. We need all the help we can get. We would grateful if people could spare the time to come out and help us decorate the church together!

We will be having our Downtown New Hope 101 Membership Class on Sunday July 27th. If you are a believer of Jesus Christ and you have been attending New Hope DT for a while and you would like to become a covenant member of the church, we encourage you to take the next step by signing up for this membership class. New Hope 101 will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm, downstairs in the Fellowship Hall after the worship service. This will be preceded by video lectures that are to be watched before attending the in-person class.

The 2025 LPC Anniversary service will be taking place on Sunday July 13th at the Mississauga Campus at 10:30am.

We will be providing a shuttle bus for those who need a ride. The bus will be leaving our downtown campus church at 9:30am sharp. We’re excited to share that our Local Missions Team is hosting a Summer BBQ Outreach: "Summer Playdate" on Saturday, June 21st from 12 to 3PM, right outside our church. This event will focus on reaching and engaging the Annex community by using art as a medium for connection, dialogue, and sharing the hope of the gospel. We will be serving free hot dogs, enjoying live music, and inviting our neighbours to get creative at a craft table with Play-Doh kits as a way to build relationships and engage in conversations about their lives and experience.

This is a great opportunity to show the love of Christ in a simple, hands-on way, and we’d love for you to be part of it!
