Christianity 101

Christianity 101 is a 10 week program that teaches the foundations of the Christian faith and it also provides a space to ask any questions that you have been wondering about - no questions are off the table - through apologetics. It is held every Tuesday, for those new and older Christians and non-believers who are seeking and curious about the Christian faith. Through this program, it is our hope to equip believers with tools to defend the faith and have confidence in the faith they believe in.

Classes will run every Tuesday, for 10 weeks starting on September 16 to November 17th from 7pm to 830pm.

Hallelujah Night

Hallelujah Night

At New Hope Fellowship, we recognize that Halloween has become a big part of our culture just as much as Christmas. It has become a normal culture for our kids as well as children head out, wear costumes, and go collect treats from strangers. In some ways, people may see this as a celebration of community, and a fun cultural recreation for children. What harm can it be?

As Christians, we always have the difficulty of living out God’s word within the context of our society and culture and we struggle with what areas Christians can or cannot partake in the culture we live in. There are times when Christians are called to stand against the culture because of our convictions according to the word of God.

At New Hope Fellowship, we discern the future impact that celebrating may have on Christians, especially our children and the future implications our participation may have on their spiritual growth as believers. We believe that the roots of Halloween and the prolonged spiritual effects are not good for Christians and we must consider how we as Christians want to reflect the glory of God unto this world.

Therefore, if we must take a stand against the current culture, then we want to begin by creating a new culture here in New Hope Fellowship DT campus, by providing Hallelujah Night as an alternative for parents to have a fun night out without celebrating Halloween.

We will be having a Christian Movie Marathon with snacks, games, and candy. If you would like to participate with your family, please register below! We will begin with movies that are more geared towards younger kids in the beginning and as time progresses we will be showing movies that are for all ages. We welcome you all to come and enjoy this evening together as a community! This will be held on Friday October 31st, starting at 5pm, at our NHF Downtown campus church!

Life Group Ministry Vision: TO GROW DISCIPLES THROUGH AUTHENTIC SPIRITUAL FRIENDSHIPS ROOTED IN GOSPEL-CENTERED CONVERSATIONS

The Life Group season is fast approaching! If you are a professing Christian and desire to grow as disciples of Christ in community, we encourage you to sign up for a LG.

Life groups (LG) are smaller groups, of 8 or more members who meet throughout the year, with a focus on mutual discipleship in friendship and growing in relationship with Jesus Christ. Every LG may approach the time together differently, but all groups will meet regularly to cultivate deeper friendship, read God’s Word, pray for one another, and encourage each other in their faith journeys.

Explore the various LGs here: https://newhopefellowship.ca/life-groups-downtown. The sign-up form will take up to 10 minutes, and the your answers will be reviewed by the LG leader(s) during group formation. This is to help the ministry understand what you are looking for and excited about in joining a LG.

Sign-up form is open from Aug 17 to Sept 4, with LGs meeting starting the week of Sep 22.
