NHF Winter Retreat 2023
We are very excited that you have made the decision to join our upcoming 2023 New Hope Fellowship Winter Retreat. We anticipate that we will be blessed by the spirit during our time of fun, fellowship, discussion, praise, rest and renewal. We look forward to enjoying our time with one another, renewing old friendships and building new ones.
As you prepare this week for the retreat, Please review the following information so that you will be better prepared to enjoy your time as soon as you arrive. Our time is short so let’s make the most of it by addressing as many questions and concerns now: not when we arrive.

Registration and check-in starts from 4:00 pm at the main office located in the LODGE building. When you arrive, please check-in with the registration team and grab a welcome kit & name tag (1 per adult) and your room keys.
Please note that dinner will not be provided on Friday. If you plan on arriving early, you can choose to eat in downtown Huntsville (10 min drive).
Parking is available mainly in front of the main Lodge and surrounding accommodations. Please check-in with the team for updated parking status when you arrive.
MBC is a pet free resort. No pets are allowed in the public meeting rooms or in your private accommodations.
The Friday evening session will commence at 7:30 pm in the chapel.
Mustard Seeds and Sparks programs will start at 7:15 pm and will be located in the Fellowship Centre, which is the building just east of the chapel.

Important: Although we urge you to arrive between 4-6 pm on Friday, we understand that life can be hectic. Therefore, if you are unable to arrive on time for the Friday evening session, please let us know in advance so that someone will be available to greet you with your kit and room keys.

The weather forecast for this weekend will be seasonally cold and snowing with temperatures dropping as low as -18C in the evenings. Please bring appropriate outerwear including hats, gloves/mittens, snow pants and winter boots for the whole family, as we will have outdoor game time and free time to enjoy the tubing hill. We recommend you bring helmets for tubing.

Check out time is immediately following our Sunday morning session and before lunch.
All rooms must be vacated before Lunch (12 pm). Upon check out, please ensure that all personal belongings have been removed from the room and placed in your vehicle prior to entering the LODGE for lunch. Also, Please return keys, Lanyards and name badge sleeves to the registration table located by the main office.
IMPORTANT: If you lose or fail to return your key(s) before departing, there is a charge of $20 by MBC.
The retreat will conclude at 1 pm but access to the tubing hill will be available until 2 pm.

Most of the various buildings at the retreat centre are not connected, so please expect to walk outdoors to reach different buildings including the accommodations.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, including your accommodation rooms. As a caveat, we highly encourage you to use the upcoming retreat to unplug from your digital devices and, instead, engage in physical activity, in discussion, outdoor activities, gym nights, hanging by the fire, tubing, or catching up on some well needed sleep.
Each family will have their own room and full bathroom. The type of room has been assigned in advance based on your family size and -on a first come first served basis and cannot be altered at this point.
Please note there is no smoking in any indoor meeting spaces or private rooms.
All bedding and towels are included with your accommodations. Linens and towels will not be replaced during the two-day stay, however if you require additional or replacement towels, the request can be made at the front desk of the main office and will be sent to your room. Shampoo and soap is supplied, but you must bring your own toothpaste. Please note that there is no maid service.
Beverages will be provided during mealtime, but if you like to drink throughout the day, we suggest you bring your own bottled water. There is a bottle refill station located in the hallway connecting the HUB and chapel.
Lights out/Quiet hour is 11 PM. There is an adult gym time set aside each evening between
11 pm-1 am. Please be mindful of your noise level when walking to and from the gym.

The outdoor carousel fire area will be operational early morning till late evening (or until firewood runs out). So enjoy at your leisure.
The HUB is an informal gathering and meeting room accessible from early morning till late evening. We will also be serving late evening snacks at the HUB, both Friday and Saturday, following our evening sessions in the Chapel.

Sunday Worship: Session #4 of the retreat will be in lieu of our regular Sunday service.
Sparks Program (JK to grade 8):
Location: Fellowship Centre
Time: There will be time to drop-off children to their program 15 minutes before each session begins, and for pick-up after each session ends.
Suggested Items to prepare for your children:
Running shoes to wear indoors and in the gymnasium
Water bottles (preferably Eco friendly)
Snow gear (snow pants, boots, gloves etc..)
Helmet for tubing hill

Gym:
The gym will be available during children’s program times (see itinerary) As well as during check-in and check-out times-please be aware that the gym is unsupervised during check-in and check-in times.
We also have assigned open gym time for anyone looking for late night athletics. Please ensure that all children under 18 years of age are accompanied by a parent or adult supervisor. The gym will be open from 1pm t- 3pm and 11 pm - 1 am both Friday and Saturday.
Tubing Hill:
Safety is of the utmost importance, so please ensure that your children use the tubing hill under adult supervision.
Hours of operation:
Friday: 4-6 pm during registration
Saturday: 3-5 pm
Sunday: 1-2 after checkout and lunch prior to departure
