“Fuel For The Race: Word & Prayer” - Hebrews 4:11-16

I. Word

 a.    The Word of God is Powerful

12 For the word of God is alive and active. (Hebrews 4:12, NIV)

b.    The Word of God is Penetrating

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow (Hebrews 4:12, NIV)

c.    The Word of God Pronounces Judgment

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Hebrews 4:12-13, NIV)

 II. Prayer

 a.    Grab tight our confession

14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.  (Hebrews 4:14-15, ESV)

 b.    Go toward God of grace

16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16, ESV)
