“Restoring Faith” - Luke 24:36-49

  • “Anyone who saw the resurrected Jesus lost the freedom of choice to believe or disbelieve.” (Philip Yancey)

1. Restoring faith is living faith.

  • “See my hands and me feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” (v.39)

  • “They gave him a piece of broiled fish, and he took it and ate before them.” (v.42-43)

2. Restoring faith is victorious faith.

  • “Then he said to them, ‘These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.’” (v.44)

  • “Peace to you!” (v.36)

3. Restoring faith is overcoming faith.

  • “You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” (v.48-49)

  • “And that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (v.47)
