MULTIPLYING POWER OF THE GOSPEL

Mark 6:30-44

Rev. Jason Noh

Opening: The Gospel has the multiplying power.

“And he said to them, ‘Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.’ For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat… Now many saw them going and recognized them, and they ran there on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them.” (v.31, 33)

“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth!” (Genesis 1:28)

1. Multiplying through what we already have.

“And he said to them, ‘How many loaves do you have? Go and see.’ And when they had found out, they said, ‘Five, and two fish.’” (v.38)

2. Multiplying through denying oneself.

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (John 12:24)

3. Multiplying through relationships.

“And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)

“Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.” (Luke 10:5-7)

Closing: The implication of the Gospel is endless.
