Education Dept. Children and Youth ministries
The vision of the Education Department of New Hope Downtown is to raise up the next generation of young disciples (and families) that move with a gospel-centered missional spirituality. We believe that the more we know God the more we will come to love Him. We teach our kids Christ-centered lessons with love, laughs, and heart. It is our hope that the seeds of the Gospel will be planted in their hearts and will spread deep roots in their lives. It is our hope that our kids will have dignity and integrity in their identity as children of God! We focus on encouraging an environment of worship and spiritual growth to raise the next generation of God’s people.
Our Education Department consists of 3 classes and one infant/toddler care service.
Youth Group (high school students agas 14 and up)
Branches (grade school students ages 8-13)
Vine Buds (preschool / kindergarten students ages 3-7)
Sprouts (infant / toddler care service)
Our Sunday service includes a formal worship time for the students (praise time, offering, Scripture reading, sermon) followed by their classes which are led by our Education Department Team Members.
Weekly Ministry Responsibilities:
Running weekly worship service and Sunday School program (curriculums) for the children and youths.
Building a culture of worship through weekly worship services - gospel-centered sermons and lessons - for spiritual development for children and youths.
Overseeing and running various programs such as Summer VBS, Hallelujah Night, Childcare Service, outreach, etc.
Our 2025-2026 Focus
Meeting the growing need of new parents with newborns; we are in the process of building a new program called “Sprouts” to provide childcare for parents to help them focus on their worship time.
Focus on outreach efforts through our Summer VBS and Hallelujah Night programs to welcome the families of the community into the church (ex. Giving out free lemonade to promote VBS).
Focus efforts to further equip and spiritually feed our children and youths through events such as youth conferences and events that encourage children to become more involved in the church (ex. Serving as volunteers in the VBS).
Teaching the fundamental message of the Gospel and equipping to share the Gospel to others.
All staff and members of the Education Department are equipped with a Vulnerable Sector Background Check through Toronto Police Service, and Plan to Protect training for working with those in the vulnerable sector.
