Who are we and what are we here for?
Do I have to be a cross-cultural overseas missionary for me to participate in God’s mission?
What does my study, work or family life have to do with God’s mission?
What about social justice and creation care?
Overview: Using Christopher Wright’s book, The Mission of God’s People, we will learn how to be missional people who participate in God’s mission in all spheres of our daily lives and our society. The two main questions we will address and answer together are: Who are we (our identity)? And what are we here for (our mission)? This training will provide you a comprehensive and holistic vision of God’s mission for God’s people in God’s world. We will incorporate reading and discussion, prayer and practice through which we anticipate transformation of our lives--head, heart and hands—by the power of the Spirit and life together.
Audience: All who want to grow as a missional disciple through intentional and intensive training. Limited to 12 people who will form a cohort for 8-months (October to May).
Facilitators: Pastor Charles Lee and Elder John Im (email: Charles.lee@newhopefellowship.ca)
Time: Fridays 7~9 PM, starting Oct 7, bi-weekly
Location: Room #312, Mississauga Campus (plus home and zoom)
Additional info: $20 book fee; mission trip options to India and Germany in the summer
