Mental Health & The Church #1: Introductions

Mental Health & The Church

SEMINAR #1: INTRODUCTIONS by Kay Shen

Have you ever or known someone that has struggled with depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues? Have you wondered how we as the body of Christ could do more in supporting one another in this area? Come and join us for an interactive conversation about the intersection between mental health and the church (and particularly with our Asian culture) on themes such as decreasing the stigma and increasing our own mental health awareness.

About Kay Shen:

I have been married to my husband Allen for almost 25 yrs, have 4 children (and a cat), and work as an addiction medicine physician at CAMH and at St. Josephs’ Health Centre. As a result of being a physician as well as having gone through some significant life issues, I have been privy to patients and friends/brothers/sisters in Christ telling me about their mental health struggles over the years, but particularly during the pandemic. I enjoy cake decorating, doing any kind of crafting, worship, hedgehogs, and authentic sharing.
